Volunteer with UPF
Our entire organization is run 100% by volunteers — many of whom contribute efforts outside of their normal 40-hour workweek.
It is only with our volunteers' support that we are able to accomplish our numerous goals and successfully orchestrate our events. As such, we always have a call out for more.
Your extra time, talents, muscle and energy are so very valuable to us — and welcome for everything from staffing Distribution Days and Volunteer Work Days, to loading and collecting supplies, to helping with social media and outreach, to joining our board and lending us your expertise.
Ready to help?
Volunteer needs change month to month. Email us and tell us a little about your availability and what you'd like to help with — we'll get you connected with the right team lead.

Where we need help
Volunteer opportunities
Distribution Days
Every 2–3 weeks, UPF volunteers coordinate, gather, organize and distribute tons of pet food and other vital products to member shelters, rescues and advocacy groups. Resources also include puppy pads, cat litter, litter boxes, medical supplies, health items and more. Distribution Days take place at the UPF Resource Center, which serves as both warehouse and main operating facility. These days usually occur on a Saturday or Sunday, and there is physical labor involved — lifting heavy resources such as bags of dog and cat food, cat litter, dog crates and other items.
Volunteer Work Days
UPF volunteers help prepare and organize pet food, toys, litter, cleaning supplies, and other vital resources to prep for each Distribution Day. Work Days make sure everything is properly organized and ready to go for the animal rescue, shelter, and advocacy groups UPF serves. These days usually occur on a Saturday or Sunday, and there is physical labor involved — lifting heavy resources such as bags of dog and cat food, cat litter, dog crates and other items.
Social Media + Outreach
Less physical, but just as valuable. Help includes coming during Distribution Days to capture photos and testimonies from our members and then posting them across our channels, recruiting business and corporate donors and partners to supply UPF resources, and other lighter work such as organizing the UPF Corner Store.
