We wish we could help every pet and every family — but our mission is to be a community resource provider to animal rescues, shelters & advocacy groups, not individual pets.

That means we can’t cover personal vet or surgery bills, give food or supplies directly to individuals, or rehome animals. Your local shelter or rescue may be able to help — and many of them get their resources from us.

Every dollar you give is leveraged into many times its value in pet food, supplies and medical product. Much of it is donated, and much of it we purchase through partners such as GreaterGood Charities. For our long-distance partners we either deliver with the UPF box truck or pay for the transportation ourselves.

Volunteer-run, so more gets through

UPF has no paid staff. Donations pay for warehouse space, transportation and the systems that let our 100 member organizations — plus partners from Birmingham, AL to Detroit, MI — get resources at highly discounted fees, with many items free, at Distribution Days held every 2-3 weeks at the United Pet Fund Resource Center.
