About The Event

No need to RSVP, but if you have any special items you are looking for, send an email to Martha at MarthaRN@aol.com, and she can possibly keep an eye out for it....no promises, but we hear she likes the role of 'personal shopper' :)

We would like to avoid the Black Friday Style of Event that 'Open Nights' for shopping have become recently. To make this more 'UPF Family Event Friendly', the following suggestions are being put out there. If you or your representative can't seem to follow the rules, you, or they, may be asked to leave:

  • UPF Volunteers are there to help, but MUST be treated courteously. We understand that all of you operate in pressure cooker environments with the care of a number of God's Creatures as your responsibility. Remember that we are there to help, but treat our volunteers with respect in not demanding to be loaded right then....bring people to help load, try not looking at what your fellow UPF Member is getting and making comments...its none of your business, please do not gossip, and, most importantly please try to smile and enjoy yourselves...we ARE TRYING TO HELP TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER! SHARE AND SHARE ALIKE! BE PATIENT!
  • Please be courteous to those around you. Because the above rules have been ignored by a few, it has ruined what should be a great experience of sharing resources and blessings. That has lead to confrontations that WE ALL want to avoid.
  • Jump in to help when you can. We want this to be a 'functional UPF Community event'. UPF has been entrusted with receiving a great number of resources due to the relationships and partnerships we have built up over the years. Getting these resources out to animal welfare community is a continuing learning experience, and we (like everybody else) do make mistakes at times. This is a continuing learning experience and we try to learn from our mistakes.
  • Just as we ask for you to watch for working forklifts, we ask you come in and practice the Golden Rule...and we will also ask that our volunteers do the same.
